Built by the factory for competition use and the wildest Corvette ever built to that time, the 1969 L88 was the force to be reckoned with in SCCA and FIA competition. Its paltry factory rating of 430 horsepower notwithstanding, the L88 actually produced more than 560, and with its heavy duty suspension, brakes and virtually indestructible driveline, it was only ever suitable for competition. GM management kept the car away from the general buying public, and only 116 were produced in this, its final year.

Fathom Green with a Black interior, this amazingly well-preserved, matching-numbers 1969 L88 was part of the 2008 Bloomington Gold Collection. Like most it is equipped for serious business, with radio delete, 4.11 Positraction, F41 special suspension and J56 heavy duty disc brakes. The 427/430hp aluminum-head powerplant is backed with GM's race-duty workhorse M22 "Rockcrusher" 4-speed; a tilt-telescopic steering wheel is a singular driver accommodation.

One of 116 L88's built in the most desirable year of L88 production, this astonishing is unmolested and purely original, a first-rate candidate for Bloomington Gold Survivor and Benchmark certification.
